Learn HR — your first 90 days in people operations

A task-based onboarding track for a young HR officer joining a multinational office or an international NGO — walked on real organisations, not slideware. It comes in two domains, each on its own running example, because generalist corporate HR and humanitarian/INGO HR are two different jobs with two different rulebooks.

Published as they're written. Lessons go live one at a time; a task that isn't live yet shows a short preview. Start with Read the org structure & headcount or Run a recruitment pipeline — the first two, live now.

Domain A — Generalist HR Lifecycle

SHRM-CP · HRCI (PHRi/SPHRi), walked on Meridian, the multinational building its internal payments platform (the same organisation the finance track costs). The full employee lifecycle — hire to retire — and the records behind every step.

Domain B — Humanitarian / INGO HR

CHS (Core Humanitarian Standard) · People in Aid · Humentum, walked on the Hilsa Health Initiative, a donor-funded INGO. The same HR lifecycle, but where duty of care, safeguarding, and donor rules shape every decision — and where some of the job is policy the standard owns, not a button the product ships.

# Task Standard
B1 Duty of care for a field posting CHS · People in Aid
B2 Safeguarding & PSEA CHS
B3 Run a confidential whistleblowing channel CHS · Humentum
B4 Field per-diems & travel Humentum
B5 Cross-project / multi-donor time & effort allocation Humentum
B6 Ethical recruiting in complex ops CHS · People in Aid
B7 Staff voice & well-being CHS
B8 Equitable reward across a multi-currency workforce Humentum

17 tasks across two domains. Figures in the walked examples are illustrative until the running-example seeds land. Competency and standard names are cited for orientation, never reproduced. Grounded in SHRM-CP/HRCI, the Core Humanitarian Standard, People in Aid, and Humentum. See the spine: CR-105.
